Culvert replacement on the Minnesota River Bluffs LRT Regional Trail at Riley Creek has caused a trail closure. I did not see any notice on the Three Rivers Park District website. When riding the trail from Chaska towards Hopkins you will pass under the Pioneer Trail Bridge and encounter barriers. No detours are posted. This is how I got around the closure. Turn left to climb the trail connection to Highview Drive. Turn left; cross Pioneer Trail; turn left to ride in the wide shoulder to Riley Lake Road and turn left onto Riley Lake Road. Ride to the entrance of the Riley Lake boat launch and turn left and then right to return to the Minnesota River Bluffs LRT Regional Trail and continue to Hopkins. When riding towards Chaska you encounter barriers at the entrance of the Riley Lake boat launch. Reverse the directions if riding towards Chaska. Workers expect the closure to last about 10 days (until 19 Oct. 2025), depending on weather conditions.
